I have over 20 years of experience in Corporate America with the last 13 years as a senior HR executive. I’ve worked in the finance and retail industries, working for leading names like Deutsche Bank, Bankers Trust Company, ING Clarion and Lord and Taylor. At the height of my career I was overseeing the administrative and HR functions for more than 1000 employees across 6 countries.
But I was also dealing with my own personal challenges. As a single mom, I was struggling with establishing a healthy work/life balance. And at work, I found myself dealing with the energy-zapping demands of my team and management, which kept me up at night and exhausted by day.
I finally figured out how to deal with the work problem through drawing better boundaries and creating better communication and then identified my core values and priorities on the home front having recently remarried. My professional focus and intent has always been to have a positive impact on others. As I climbed the corporate ladder I became further and further removed from the daily interactions with employees. To be true to myself, my professional goals and dreams for my family I charted a course to start a “movement” to help others identify the obstacles they face develop solutions and establish a concrete action plan.
With my background as an expert in HR and workplace issues, I often think of my role as a travel guide in a foreign land. I know how to navigate the culture, the language, the efficient ways of getting places – and how to solve problems when they occur.
I have suffered countless sleepless nights and understand the pain and undue stress it brings to all areas of your life. During my career I’ve helped hundreds of people solve their issues – identify their energy vampires, discover what’s keeping them up at night – and I feel it’s my mission in life . It’s what gets me up in the morning and keeps me sleeping at night.
